Beginning of April, Winter in Winnipeg

This is the type of message I regret bringing to everyone. However, it is with best interests in mind…and your safety!

For everyone that is not currently traveling to almost anywhere but Winnipeg during our spring break you’re well aware that winter still has a strong hold on our weather. Freezing temperatures have not left the city and this has slowed the daytime melts despite the intensity of the sun.

With there still being tons of snow pack, freezing temperatures, ice on the roads and potholes hidden under puddles it’s far from safe to begin outdoor group road rides.

We will delay our outdoor season for two weeks and then re-evaluate the circumstances.

Here is what to expect for the next few workouts:

Tuesday April 4th: Indoor Track Run at University of Manitoba Max Bell Track 6pm

Wednesday April 5th: Indoor Bike at Winnipeg Rowing Club at 6:30 (Doors at 6:15)

Saturday April 8th: Outdoor Endurance Run at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond Shelter 8:30am

Sunday April 9th: EASTER: NO WORKOUT

Tuesday April 11th: Indoor Track Run at University of Manitoba Max Bell Track 6pm

Wednesday April 12th: Indoor Bike at Winnipeg Rowing Club at 6:30pm (Doors at 6:15pm)

Saturday April 15th: Outdoor Endurance Run at Assiniboine Park Duck Pond Shelter 8:30am

Sunday April 16th: Indoor Bike Workout at Winnipeg Rowing club at 8:30am (Doors at 8:15am)

Keep your fingers crossed that this two weeks will be enough to clear up and dry up our roads and tracks so that we’re able to transition to outdoor workouts!!

Our Google Calendar is updated to reflect the above.
